About Us

Want to play great orchestral music?

The Madison Community Orchestra, directed by Blake Walter, is wholly supported by Madison Area Technical College (MATC). Admission to all its concerts is free.

The orchestra is comprised of about 70 amateur musicians of varying ages and ability levels from Madison and the surrounding area. The orchestra, founded in 1965, performs four concerts a year.   Rehearsals are every Tuesday night from 7:15- 9:30 at the downtown MATC facility off of State Street. We are looking to build our orchestra with new players in many sections of the orchestra. If you can commit to a weekly rehearsal and three concerts a year, please call us.

We play three concerts at Mitby Theater each year and a Christmas concert in the Capitol.
